SDSU Art Council: "Paint In" Event

"Your mother told you not to write on the walls . . ." was the theme
of this write-in/paint-in event on June 4, 2008 at the new Elektra
Building at the corner of Broadway and Kettner across from the Santa
Fe Depot in downtown San Diego. This event was sponsored by the San
Diego State University Art Council for a private preview of the
donated space for the School of Art, Design and Art History's SDSU
Downtown Community Gallery. Design Innovation Institute was
represented by Rosetta Sciacca and her guest Bob, Bennett Peji and two
guests from his office, Ron Miriello, Lisa Erb, Sivly Ly and Calvin
Woo. Over a hundred attendees left their mark on bare concrete walls
for posterity before the 1,700 square feet of exhibition space is
completed and officially opened in October. Catherine Gleason,
previously with the Oceanside Museum, will be the new gallery director.
